Healthcare Facilities Construction Healthcare Facilities JKL's staff has worked on nearly 20 healthcare projects during the past few years. This work includes bone marrow transplant rooms, CT scans, emergency department renovations, operating rooms, MRI's, seismic upgrades, as well as full replacement hospitals. Also included are medical office buildings and outpatient clinics.
High-tech and Life Sciences Construction High-tech and Life Sciences High-tech and life science construction is very specialized. We understand the complexities involved with these types of projects. We have formed a consortium with RPR Architects, ACCO Mechanical, and Rosendin Electric to address the construction issues facing the Life Science Industry. This approach provides clients a single source design/build delivery. Current high-tech and life science clients include Lockheed and Genentech.
Higher Education and K-12 School Construction Higher Education and K-12 We have a staff pool who has worked on literally dozens of school projects. We understand political complexities within school districts as well as the regulatory requirements of DSA. Our services stem from program management to construction management. Our general contracting experience also allows us to effectively execute CM Multiple Prime, CM-at-Risk, and Lease/Lease Back contract delivery methods.
Private Sector Construction Private Sector Construction Our staff has worked on nearly every type of private project and contract delivery method in use over the last twenty years. Some of these include hotels office complexes, tenant improvements, mixed use, historic and seismic renovations. Project delivery methods include design-build, cost plus, guaranteed maximum price, and lump sum. Most projects were awarded on qualification basis thereby rewarding professional, high quality, and accurate work.
Public Sector Construction Public Sector Construction
One of our strongest areas of experience is as construction managers for public entities. We effectively work with multiple agencies simultaneously and we understand the fiscal constraints controlling most public projects. Our experience as a general contractor allows us to keep a pulse on the subcontracting market, the newest technologies, and maintain a true working knowledge of construction means and methods. We bring this knowledge to public agency clients. Our staff has been involved in the construction and management of convention centers, airports, jail facilities, public hospitals, roads, bridges, and dams.

Company Overview

JKL is a commercial building firm started in June of 2003. We have experienced steady growth since that time due to our past relationships and competent staff. Our concentration within the industry is healthcare construction. In addition to our healthcare clients, we have contractural relationships with highly technical companies such as Intel, Genentech, and Lockheed Martin.
We pursue complex projects and employ engineers and construction experienced people who thrive on the challenges offered by these types of projects. We contract as design/builders, general contractors, construction managers, and owner's representatives.
Our staff has constructed some of the largest projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. This knowledge and experience allows us to provide a higher level of services from that offered by other small companies. It also gives us an edge over large firms who have higher overhead costs.
